Last Day Of School
Some friends and I took our kids to the beach after school was out for the summer. Unfortunately, when I checked the surf report that morning, there was a high surf/rip current advisory. So, none of the kids were able to boogie board. The lifeguards on the beach weren't letting people go in past their ankles. The surf was the highest I have ever seen it. It was beautiful to look at, but incredibly dangerous. There were flags up every 10 yards on the beach warning of rip currents. The lifeguards really earned their pay that day.
Luckily, the kids were all content to play in the sand. The looked for shells, dug up sand crabs and buried each other in the sand. It was a glorious 75 degrees with a nice breeze, so us Mom's enjoyed catching some rays, eating and talking. We are all very happy it is summer!
