Almost new playset

Our neighbors are moving, and they had this giant play structure.  So, after some digging to make a level spot and a rather long morning of disassembling, then reassembling, here it is.   Boy, I hope it never requires moving again.

Two Peaceful Princesses

The Girl and her friend S in their princess costumes. For some reason they both like to flash the peace sign or bunny ears when photographed...kids.

Mad Scientist

The Boy doing experiments with his science kit. When he started his experiment, he was wearing his swimming goggles (I wasn't fast enough to get that picture). They interfered with his measuring.

Cowboy adventure.

All the cool kids wear Amish hats and Oklahoman chaps. And of course you need a guitar when you sing around the campfire.

Well...

I'm doing all this blogging from my cell phone, so you'll have to forgive the picture quality.  The fireworks were great even though we were a mile away.  The girl and I spent the night on the boat.  She slept like a rock.  Me, not so much.  I think an extra foam pad is in order for future boat camping nights.

Firework night

Were at a friends sailboat waiting for the sun to go down and for the fireworks to go up.

Build-a-bear birthday

For the girls birthday she wanted to go to build a bear... so here we are.  She is agonizing over which outfit to get her bear.

Urban exploration

Don't you wish your creek had a nice concrete bed to lie in?  I took the boy on a light rail ride downtown to have a picnic and to explore the urban jungle.

Adventure Pack

This afternoon the boy runs through the house with his backpack (aka adventure pack) on. He heads into the backyard, grabs his wagon and tells me he is on an adventure. He looks a little weighted down. When I take out the contents after he is gone to bed, I realize why.

Contents of his pack:
The dark blue circle is actually a fist sized rock he painted with the earth.
A bag full of legos
A blue water filled plastic ball.
A clock.
A baseball mitt
A large amount of bubble wrap. Yes, I do know that children shouldn't play with bubble wrap. I thought I had put that in the recycle bin last week.

Evidently, my little McGyver thought these were all necessary adventure items. What goes on in their minds is a wonder.

Birthday Cake

It was hubby's birthday and the girl made her Dad a cake. Can you tell she also decorated it? Do you think she likes icing?
