Beware of Libraries

The boy and I were at the library today waiting for R to finish chess lessons. He is playing on one of the kids computers in the children's library area. A cute little girl his age comes and sits next to him. She starts playing the game with him. After a few minutes of watching them and listening to them talk they have the following conversation:

Girl- Do you want to be my boyfriend?
Boy- No, I love my Mom.
Girl- Are you sure?
Boy- Yeah, I really love my Mom. (at this point I think, if only he feels like this in 10 yrs)
Girl- Do you want me to be your girlfriend?
Boy- No, I already have one, her name is R and she is my sister. She has long hair that grows a lot.
Girl- My hair grows a lot and is getting longer.
Boy- No thanks, do you want a turn?

I wish I could have taped it. I was trying so hard not to smile! How innocent he is. His girlfriend, is a girl that is a friend.

Lions and Monkeys and Bears...oh my!

The boy asleep with his stuffed animal menagerie. He sleeps with about ten stuffed animals all piled around him.

Be wary of friends...

Because if you have them you might get wrangled into doing this.

Whose Kid is This?

This is a picture of the boy getting ready to do his homework.  Yes, I do realize he is wearing swim goggles.  He did his homework with them on.  Somethings are better left unasked.

Blogging from my phone

Talk about a pointless blog post.  I was checking out how to blog away from the computer, and how to avoid the hassle of downloding pictures from the camera and uploaing them again.  It appears pretty easy to do, so go ahead and enjoy this picture of my cubicle wall.

Potato Head...I Mean People

The girl's project for the week was to make a potato person. She chose to make it into an angel. I think her and her Dad (who is in charge of implementation of all creative endeavors, as he has actual artistic talent-one of the reasons I married him) did a pretty good job. Is it sacrilegious to peel and mash it now?

Not an Ant Farm

Remember those ant farms as kids? Well, those are so twentieth century. In the twenty-first century the ants go to ant playgrounds. The boy informed me there was a Ferris wheel, roller coaster, swings, a slide and flowers and leaves for the snack bar. If you squint, you might see the ants.

Boys and Cars

What goes together like peanut butter and jelly? Boys and cars!

Monster Toast

What is a monkey's favorite snack? Monster toast.
It is very simple to make. Mix milk and food coloring, paint it on bread and toast.

Go Fly a Kite

The monkeys had a half day at school. So, I decided to surprise them on a beautiful spring day. When I picked them up from school we went to the beach. The first time this year it has been warm enough. They had a great time

Patience

How do you test the patience of a small child? Make them wait for a smoothie to finish blending.

Maybe tapping the glass will make it mix faster.

Ah...sweet success. Until the brain freeze.

Cousins Dedeux

A few of the cousins were in town for the weekend. I thought this was a cute picture of cousin S with two monkeys.
